Join us at Roberts Roost Farm to learn about innovative beginner farmer training and a local food hub! Meet farmers, chefs, and consumers who are some of the top supporters of our locally grown food movement.
Roberts Roost Farm is a small fruit and vegetable farm owned by Cathy Tipper, who helped to establish Future Harvest CASA’s Beginner Farmer Training Program (BFTP). Join us for a farm tour, potluck, and discussion of the BFTP, local farming networks, and local food hub Chesapeake Farm to Table (CF2T). Please bring a dish!
The BFTP aims to build more economically viable, sustainable, small-scale farms in the Chesapeake region through educational programs and hands-on training. Many BFTP graduates sell to top chefs and consumers through CF2T. CF2T is a farmer-owned, farmer-managed online marketplace for local, high-quality, and sustainably grown produce.
